Hija de exiliados políticos de Guinea Ecuatorial, nacida en Palma de Mallorca y criada entre la comunidad gitana del barrio Son Gotleu, Buika aprendió de su madre a escuchar las grandes voces del jazz mientras en la calle se impregnaba del quejío flamenco. De ese cruce nació una de las voces más singulares de la música contemporánea. A lo largo de más de veinticinco años de trayectoria —ganadora del Latin Grammy y Medalla de Oro al Mérito en las Bellas Artes, colaboradora de Chick Corea, Seal, Chucho Valdés y Nelly Furtado— ha construido un universo sonoro que atraviesa el flamenco, la copla, el bolero, el jazz y múltiples raíces afrodescendientes, donde el desgarro, la sensualidad, la memoria y la libertad conviven con fuerza excepcional. En su encuentro con la Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional de Colombia, esa materia emocional se expande. La orquesta ensancha la respiración dramática de cada canción, amplifica sus matices y abre un espacio de escucha de gran profundidad. Buika Experiencia Sinfónica 2026 —espectáculo que desde 2013 ha viajado a Japón, Polonia, México, Turquía y Sudáfrica— llega por primera vez a Colombia con éxitos como Mi niña Lola y Jodida pero contenta junto a piezas clásicas como Lascia ch'io pianga, en una velada donde la canción se vuelve acontecimiento y la emoción, materia viva de la escena.
